This place was first described in 1491 and there was then talk of a house or a farmstead. The house was sold in 1540 to Pierre de Boisot who was lord of Huizingen.
The house was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1545. At that time it was called the Hoff terBorght . Then it came to Charles de Boisot who however signed the Oath of the Nobles in 1566 and then had to flee. His goods were then declared forfeit by Philip II .
